Purple star astrology

A purple star astrology chart is a Zi Wei Dou Shu chart. Enter a birth date and time for a free Zi Wei chart, then keep reading on the same board as the rest of the site.

The form uses the chart engine directly. Nothing here is a second, simplified calculator. You do not need an account.
What this calculator does
A Zi Wei Dou Shu calculator takes the date, the clock time, and the place you were born, and lays out a purple star astrology chart. The useful part is not a single lucky word. It is a map of twelve palaces, with stars sitting in them.
Meet Ziwei uses one engine for this form and for the full chart. The birthplace corrects the clock toward true solar time, which matters when you were born close to the edge of a two-hour block. After you submit, you land in the free chart, not a separate toy result.
Purple star astrology, by its other name
Search pages say purple star astrology chart, Zi Wei Dou Shu, or free Zi Wei chart. They are asking for the same natal chart. Zi Wei, the Emperor star, gives the system its name. The rest of the chart is the fourteen major stars, a set of supporting stars, and the four transformations that color a year.
You do not need the Chinese terms to start. The chart page shows the English names used on this site, such as Self for the Life palace and Tan Lang for the star of appetite and talent. The Chinese page is still there when you want the original wording.
What you need before you cast
Three things change the chart: the date, the time, and the place. Gender changes the direction of the ten-year periods, not the stars in the palaces. A solar date is the usual civil birthday. If you only have a lunar date, the form accepts that too.
The time is a clock time, not a vague "morning." Each double-hour is two hours, and the Life palace, the body palace, and the Life master all move when that block changes. If the best record you have is a window of about three hours, cast the edges separately and see whether the Life palace stays put.
The place is a city, used only to correct the clock. It is not a claim about where you live now. For a birthplace in Taiwan, daylight saving in 1946–1961, 1974–1975, and 1979 is corrected automatically. You do not subtract an hour. The form says the same thing under the fields.
How to read the 12 palaces
The palaces are twelve rooms of one life, not twelve fortunes stacked on top of each other. Read the room that matches the question, then look at the stars in it and the rooms opposite and trine to it. A bright star in a hard room is not the same sentence as a quiet star in an easy one.
Self (Life). How you meet a new situation: the tempo, the pride, the way you decide. It is the first palace people mean when they ask who someone is in this chart. It is not the Life master star, which is a separate lookup from the branch of this palace. How the Life palace is found.
Siblings. Brothers, sisters, and the peers who grew up in the same rooms. It also colors teamwork with people who feel like equals rather than a boss or a partner.
Partner. Marriage and the one close romantic bond, and the way you handle a pair. It is not every friendship. Friends have their own palace.
Children. Children, younger people you are responsible for, and the projects you raise from nothing. Creative work often shows up here as well as in the career palace.
Money. How cash moves: earning, holding, spending, and the kind of work that actually pays you. It is not the same as the career palace, which is closer to role and reputation.
Health. Body tendencies and the way stress lands. It is not a diagnosis. If something here worries you, that is a reason to ask a doctor, not a reason to skip one.
Outer World. Travel, moves, and the face you wear away from home. It is the palace of "out there": other cities, other rooms, the first impression.
Friends. Friends, colleagues, and the people who help or drain a project. In older books this room is called servants. On this site it is Friends.
Career. Role, craft, and the name you make at work. It talks well with the Money palace: one is the job, the other is the cash.
Home. Property, the household, and the family you live inside. It is the palace of the actual rooms, not only the people who raised you.
Inner Life. What you enjoy when nobody is scoring you: rest, taste, belief, the private mood. A hard career year can still have a kind inner palace, and the other way around.
Parents. Parents, bosses, and the elders whose approval you still feel. It often rhymes with the career palace, because authority shows up in both.
The stars that matter most are the major stars in the room you are asking about. Empty rooms borrow the stars opposite them. The long notes on each major star are in the 14 main stars.
Three questions this chart can answer quickly
Once the chart exists, three smaller questions have their own pages, using this same engine. Where the Life palace sits is the branch you count to. The Life master is the star tied to that branch, which is not always the major star sitting in the Life palace. The body palace is the room the body lands in, counted forward through the hours instead of backward.
If you want the whole board, the transformations, and a plain-language overview, stay with the free chart this form opens. The paid report is the next ten years, one block per year, and twelve months from the month you pay, one block per month, at the price shown on the chart page.
Questions
What is a Zi Wei Dou Shu calculator?
It turns a birth date, a birth time, and a birthplace into a Zi Wei Dou Shu chart. This page takes those details into the same free chart used on the rest of Meet Ziwei, including the true-solar-time correction.
Is a purple star astrology chart the same thing?
Yes. Purple star astrology is the English name for Zi Wei Dou Shu. Zi Wei is the Emperor star, and the chart built around it is the purple star chart. You do not cast a second, different chart.
Can I get a free Zi Wei chart without an account?
Yes. The birth form on this page opens a free chart. You can see the twelve palaces and one overview reading before you decide whether to log in or buy the full report.
What if I do not know my birth time?
The twelve palaces move with the two-hour double-hour. A gap of about three hours often crosses into the next one, so the calculator does not guess. Use the closest time you can document, or read the note on charting without a birth hour.
How do I read the 12 palaces?
Start with the Life palace, which is the temperament you meet a situation with. Then read the palace that matches the question: money, work, partnership, home, health, or the people around you. One star in one palace is not the whole chart.
