Free online Zi Wei Dou Shu chart

How we cast a chart and how we read it: charts follow the star-placement method of Zi Wei Dou Shu Quan Shu. Birth time is converted to true solar time, and Taiwan daylight saving is corrected automatically. Readings are written by AI from the rules of the fourteen major stars, the twelve palaces, and the four transformations, without favoring one school. Astrology is a reference for knowing yourself. It cannot replace medical, legal, or financial advice.

Only the birthday is required. If the hour is uncertain, you can look first and fill it in later.

  • The twelve palaces: Self, Partner, Money, Career, and the other aspects of a life.
  • Which palace the fourteen major stars and the auxiliary stars fall in.
  • The birth-year four transformations: where Lu, Quan, Ke, and Ji each land.
  • A plain-language overview, in a conversational tone, about your temperament, your strengths, and what to watch.
  • To go further, you can unlock the full report. It includes the next ten years, one block per year, and the next 12 months, starting from the month you pay, one block per month.

Common questions

Does casting a chart cost money?

Casting a chart and the overview reading are both free, and you do not need to log in. Palace clicks and follow-ups need a login, share one daily cap, reset the next Taipei day, and stay the same if you pay. Only the full report (the next ten years, and the next 12 months from the month you pay) has to be paid for.

Can I cast a chart if I do not know my birth time?

Yes. Choose Not sure, or leave the hour blank. This page then shows only what does not depend on the hour: the lunar date, and which stars carry this year's Lu, Quan, Ke, and Ji. It does not guess Self, the twelve palaces, or the decades. Pick a branch, or add the clock time later, and the twelve palaces are cast. The full method is in charting without a birth hour, written in Chinese.

Why do I enter a birthplace?

It corrects the clock to true solar time. Solar time at different longitudes can differ by a few minutes, up to more than ten. Someone born near the edge of a two-hour branch may fall into a different branch after the correction.

What if I was born during daylight saving time?

Taiwan observed daylight saving in the summers of 1946–1961, 1974–1975, and 1979. When the birthplace is in Taiwan, those daylight-saving times are corrected from the time-zone data. Do not subtract an hour yourself.

If I was born after 11pm, which day is it?

From 11pm to midnight is the late Zi hour. On this site the late Zi hour stays on that day and does not push the count into the next month. After midnight, the early Zi hour belongs to the new day. Schools disagree about whether a birth from 11pm to midnight belongs to the day just ending or the day just starting.
